The weather is warming up, the days are getting longer, flowers are starting to bloom, and our bikes are hitting the streets. Things are happening here at the Ride For Clean Energy headquarters as the 4th annual Ride For Clean Energy quickly approaches. This year’s ride will be taking place Saturday August 6th, 2016, and registration has already begun.
Just as years previous, this year’s ride is 71km and starts in Harrison Mills and ends in Maple Ridge, with a fantastic after party at the finish line for all participants and their families. This year; however, we’ve added a new rider category: the challenge route. The challenge route starts later than the classic or easy route and is faster paced, with no rest stops along the way. We urge only experienced riders who are confident in their ability to keep a fast pace over all terrain to sign up for the challenge route.
As you can see, another new feature for the ride this year is the ability to make donations to a specific rider electronically. If you, or someone you know, would like to make a donation via the internet, please visit this website and click “DONATE” at the top.
Rider registration is now also done via this website. If you or anyone you know would like to register for this year’s ride, please click “REGISTER”.
We’re aiming to make this year’s ride the biggest and best so far. We’ve sent out sponsorship packages, started planning for the ride and the after party, had some fundraising events to support the Tyler Lewis Clean Energy Research Foundation – the foundation to which all proceeds for the ride go to. The foundation also recently announced the latest recipient of the TLCERF scholarship in the winter. To learn more about the foundation and the scholarship recipient, please visit www.tylerlewis.ca
Remember, space is limited on the ride, and although there will be more spots open this year than in year’s previous, space is not unlimited. So if you are interested in being a rider, please register today.
As in years previous, our main sponsor is Patrick O’Brien at RBC Dominion Securities. Without his generous donations and his help, this would not be possible.
Thank you for checking us out. Without your support, our vision to making the world a more sustainable place would not be possible.
