2017 Ride for Clean Energy Recap

2017 Ride For Clean Energy

The fifth annual Ride for Clean Energy was underway on August 12th, boasting a record number of riders! The 51 riders comprising this year’s ride embarked on the event’s new route and format. Straying from the original route used for the 2013-2016 Rides for Clean Energy, the 2017 ride started and ended in home of Foundation’s directors Lynn and Graham in Maple Ridge.

The amazing group of riders completed the 65 km ride, traveling through beautiful Fraser Valley roads and along the banks of the Fraser River throughout Maple Ridge, Langley and Fort Langley.

The Ride is set as the Foundation’s primary annual fundraiser and once again proved itself as just that by raising over $20,000 for the second consecutive year. All the funds raised go directly to the Foundation and is pivotal for the continued issuing of the Foundation’s yearly grant(s).

The Foundation would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s ride, as well as all the volunteers who made the event possible. We would also like to extend endless gratitude to the 2017 Ride for Clean Energy title sponsors: Caps Westwood Cycles and Patrick O’Brien RBC Dominion Securities. Other gracious sponsors include CM Graphic Designs, Emily Pledge Photography, Deep Cove Brewers and Distillers, Sperling Vineyards, Rain City Riders and all those who provided prizes for the raffles and after-party. Lastly, the Foundation would like to thank all those who donated to riders and the Foundation in this years ride; without your generous support, the continued success of the Foundation would not be possible.
