2016 Ride for Clean Energy Update

A lot has been happening with the 2016 Ride for Clean Energy and we have many updates. First and foremost, we are overwhelmed with the amount of new and returning riders that have expressed interest in riding in this year’s ride. The registration has now officially closed, as the participant capacity has been surpassed. We are pleased to announce that this year’s ride will have a total of 44 riders, far exceeding last year’s total.

We are also extremely thrilled to announce that the Ride for Clean Energy has officially acquired a new sponsor. Joining the Ride for Clean Energy for 2016 and 2017 will be Cap’s Westwood Cycle, a company with deep ties and history to the British Columbia cycling community. This partnership is strengthened by the mutual belief of the importance of mitigating global warming with direct action – including getting out and riding your bike! Please check out Cap’s Westwood Cycle online at www.westwoodcycle.ca.

As a part of the sponsorship, Cap’s Westwood Cycles will be donating their time, energy, goods, as well as financial support to make this year’s ride the best and most successful one yet! One of the contributions that we are especially excited about is the donation of an Electra Townie Original 7D cruiser bike, that we will be raffling away to one lucky person at the ride after-party. Come prepared to buy some raffle tickets for your chance to win this beautiful cruiser!

Finally, as a way to try and reach a wider audience and spread the word about the Foundation and Ride for Clean Energy, we have expanded our online presence to Facebook (www.facebook.com/RideForCleanEnergy) and Instagram (@rideforcleanenergy). If you have not already checked out either of our social media pages, please do so and pass it along to friends and family.

Stay tuned for more updates leading up to the ride on August 6th. You can also check out the official Ride for Clean Energy website at www.rideforcleanenergy.com.
